In July 2025 I had my design work accepted to the Uppercase Surface Pattern Design Guide. As part of this I was selected to be the winner of a place on the From Paint to Pattern course. This was a ten week course that was focused on creating digital textile designs from hand drawn and painted imagery. This has given me experience of designing repeats in Photoshop, understanding the digital print process and colour separations.

Having been made redundant I decide to take the opportunity to start a new career in textile design. I created a unique range of over printed recycled fabrics where I hand draw imagery that I then screen printed over the fabric. To launch my fabric collection I organised a pop up exhibition that combined my new textiles and quilts, the exhibition was part of the wider Woven in Kirklees festival.

I designed and hand printed a new fabric design for inclusion on my second fabric box launch. This new fabric was designed to work with vintage and recycled fabric and specifically aimed at fellow quilters. I designed, produced and sold 50 fabric boxes. 

I launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the creation of my first fabric collection. I designed, hand drew and screen printed the fabric and then promoted via social media. The Kickstarter campaign was successful and I delivered 50 quilt kits containing my new fabric.

I launched my second Aurifil thread collection at Festival of Quilts 2025. This collection was a collaboration with the textile designer Sally Kelly. We worked collaboratively on choosing the colours and on the subsequent launch event and promotion of the collection. 

I approached Aurifil with the idea of a collection based on my love of street art. I created a pdf mood board and curated the colour choice. The collection was launched at Festival of Quilts, where I met and engaged with the public to promote the collection. I also appeared on Sewing Street (live TV!) to promote the collection.
